Soft ground unfolds across two venues in Comporta: Casa da Cultura da Comporta and the Museu do Arroz Museum Space. The exhibition brings together works by Anne Lefebvre, Antonio Társis, Artur Lescher, Cristiano Lenhardt, Damián Ortega, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Erika Verzutti, Ernesto Neto, Flávia Vieira, João Maria Gusmão, Laís Amaral, Luiz Zerbini, Lygia Pape, Manuella Silveira, Marcius Galan, Marcos Siqueira, Marina Rheingantz, Patricia Leite, Paula Siebra, Paulo Nimer Pjota, Pedro Tudela, Pedro Vaz, Rivane Neuenschwander, Santídio Pereira, Solange Pessoa and Vasco Futscher.

Bringing together artists from different generations and practices, the exhibition creates a dialogue between sculpture, painting, installation, drawing and site-responsive works, exploring the relationships between landscape, materiality and perception. Spread across two distinct exhibition spaces, Soft Ground encourages visitors to experience the works in conversation with Comporta's unique natural environment, where shifting terrains, vegetation and light become active elements in the exhibition's narrative.

Together, the participating artists examine notions of territory, transformation and the physical and symbolic qualities of the ground beneath our feet. Their works reflect on the ways in which landscapes preserve memory, shape human experience and continually evolve through natural and cultural processes. By bringing these diverse practices into a shared context, Soft ground proposes a meditation on place, coexistence and the subtle connections between body, environment and material, inviting audiences to move between the two venues as part of a single, interconnected exhibition experience.
