A world that is already on the edge of collapse—across the globe, we are facing wars and hunger. But on top of that, suddenly, several files were released that flooded the whole internet. The shock was so huge that it shook governments in Europe. From the Gulf of Mexico to the biggest democracy in the world, we heard about it in parliaments. This is the Epstein Files in the name of the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Background
Jeffrey Epstein's files are basically a number of documented files in the custody of the Government of the United States of America. These are the files collected from Jeffrey and Ghislaine Maxwell about several crimes that happened on Epstein's personal island, linked with some of the biggest names in global politics. Epstein was first arrested in 2007 and found guilty of sex offenses. But behind the scenes, things were much dirtier than what was shown to us.
The credit goes to Julie K. Brown, the journalist who worked on this and revealed the darkest reality. Julie worked on this story and came to know that this was more than just a sex offense, and it was not only Jeffrey behind these inhuman acts. At that time, it was not fully published, and later, Jeffrey was found dead in his cell.
Many times, US President Donald Trump used this as bait for voters to provoke them against the Democratic Party. One of the biggest promises was that he would make these files public after being elected as President of the USA. But he was never aware that what he was unleashing would become a death pill for his own political position. After being selected as president, he removed these lines from his to-do list. But the voters did not forget this. Republicans start building pressure on their own government. It even pushed the government to pass a bill to publish these files.
Epstein files
These files were published in phases. Until now, we have received around 3 million pages of documents released, and there is almost an equal amount of data remaining to be released soon. These files have already shaken European politics, where many big names popped up. This not only raised serious questions but also showed that they care more about themselves than the public domain.
United States of America
The biggest list of names is from the United States. One of the biggest names that appeared is current US President Donald Trump. The president denied that he even knew Epstein. But the revelations cleared many doubts that he was close to Jeffrey. Trump visited Epstein's island many times, and there is much more about him. The names were protested, and many questions were raised about the US Department of Justice. It became clear that Jeffrey was not alone in these inhuman acts. He had high-level links, and later it was claimed that he was connected with powerful US elites. Trump was one of the biggest names included in these files, but he was not the only one.
The connection of former US President Bill Clinton also appeared, as he used Jeffrey's jets. The connection was related to the Bill Clinton Foundation. It was described as professional meetings relevant to his foundation, and he stated he was not aware of what Epstein had done in the past. It wasn't what Trump had hyped to US citizens.
Europe
Europe is also affected by these files, where many big names were mentioned. Jeffrey had links from the UK to Norway with upper hierarchy figures. In the UK, things are under pressure, and people demanded that Keir Starmer resign. He appointed Peter Mandelson as the US Ambassador. Mandelson, a Labour Party member and House of Lords peer, resigned from the party and the House of Lords following his link with Jeffrey. It was already a controversial appointment because of previous associations. Now the situation is tense in the UK. On top of that, Prince Andrew was already named in the Epstein files. His name did not create much chaos, as he had already resigned from royal duties in 2019.
Following this, Starmer's Chief of Staff, Morgan McSweeney, was the person who suggested Peter for the US Ambassador role. Morgan resigned, taking responsibility for the hiring and saying he suggested it to Starmer.
Thorbjørn Jagland was also named in the Epstein files. Things became worse for the former Prime Minister of Norway. His home was searched by authorities, and he agreed to cooperate with the police. Jagland was a major political figure in Norway. He served as foreign minister, leader of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, and head of the Council of Europe. Police interrogated him for corruption allegations.
Following the Epstein files, Mona Juul is also a notable name from Norway. Police interrogated her regarding her association with Jeffrey. She played a vital role in the 1993–95 Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit was also named and apologized for her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. She admitted in an email that she knew about Epstein's imprisonment. These things raised serious questions about the Royal House of Norway.
Asia
The world's largest continent also had a few notable names. Despite being a traditional and cultural country, names from India appeared. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi was named in these files, it raised questions in the world's biggest democracy. It was mentioned that he visited Israel on the suggestion of Jeffrey. In these conversations, Anil Ambani, brother of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, was also referenced. It raised serious questions about whether the biggest democracy was working under the influence of a sex offender. The allegations were serious that an elected government was influenced by someone else. In a recent Indian parliament debate, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised questions about Anil Ambani and his connection with Epstein.
The biggest irony is that no one is going to take action against world leaders, as they already have immunity. While a few people admitted their mistakes and resigned, showing a bit of dignity, in the coming times, there may be more new and big names that could shock us.
