Muhammad Saad Ismail is a professional journalist and columnist with a diverse and dynamic portfolio across three major beats: sports (cricket and football), entertainment (film industry), and social issues (global warming and mental health).
Born in Khanewal, a small city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, Saad developed a deep passion for journalism from an early age. To pursue his aspirations, he moved to Islamabad, the Capital Territory of Pakistan, where he completed his formal education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in media and communication studies from the prestigious National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad.
One of the most defining challenges in his journalistic journey has been reporting on football, a sport that historically receives limited coverage and institutional support in Pakistan. Despite the lack of a strong football culture or infrastructure in the country, Saad remained resolute in his commitment. Through persistence and innovation, he carved out a unique space in Pakistani football journalism, elevating stories that often go untold.
During his university years, Saad launched his professional career in parallel with his studies. He served as a sports analyst for 51 News during the 9th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL)—one of the country’s most high-profile cricket events—where he provided pre- and post-match analysis, offering valuable insights to a nationwide audience.
In the broadcasting domain, Saad worked as a Radio Jockey (RJ) at Radio NUML Rah-e-Ilm-o-Amal FM 104.6, a campus-based radio station. Over the course of his tenure, he hosted 25 live shows, covering a wide range of topics, including European football transfers, UEFA Euro 2024, and Copa America. He also produced exclusive segments focused on the revival of football in Pakistan, discussing the lifting of the FIFA ban and the national team’s participation in World Cup qualifiers. A standout moment was his exclusive podcast interview with Waqar Baloch, a defender from the Pakistan National Football Team.
Beyond radio and TV, Saad developed strong credentials in print journalism. During his undergraduate studies, he contributed to six national newspapers, specializing in domestic and international football coverage. His reach further expanded on the global stage as he collaborated with four international media outlets. These included a partnership with a German journalist to create content on mental health awareness, as well as analytical sports content (cricket and football) for three other international platforms.
In the entertainment beat, Saad teamed up with a Ghanaian journalist to co-write articles focused on Hollywood and Bollywood cinema. He also collaborated with a UK-based football writer, contributing club-specific content centered on Rochdale FC, blending cultural perspectives with sporting insight.
Saad’s versatility extended to television broadcasting, where he appeared as an on-screen commentator during the HEC Inter-University Football Championship, showcasing his adaptability across multiple journalistic mediums.
With experience spanning print, radio, television, and digital platforms, Muhammad Saad Ismail has built a well-rounded media profile. His reporting style blends analytical depth with narrative storytelling, allowing him to highlight underrepresented issues in sports, entertainment, and social development. His work has earned him recognition both nationally and internationally, and he continues to build a reputation as a voice for the unheard.
Currently, Saad is actively contributing to multiple international and local media platforms, including
Manc Sports, a Manchester-based forum, where he covers in-depth sports content focusing on European football and club activities.
The Hub Web, a Ghana-based digital platform, is where he contributes to both sports and entertainment, offering diverse coverage that bridges African and South Asian media narratives.
Meer, a multinational digital magazine, where he writes across three beats—Sports, Entertainment, and Culture—offering insightful commentary and cross-cultural perspectives.
Through these platforms, Muhammad Saad Ismail continues to enrich the global journalism landscape by spotlighting stories that matter, fostering intercultural dialogue, and building bridges between audiences through his impactful and inclusive storytelling.
