Lou Farrell is an experienced writer who works as the Senior Editor of Revolutionized, a site focused on exploring cutting-edge revolutions in the science, manufacturing, and technology fields, among others. He’s been writing with Revolutionized for nearly 4 years, but has been a writer-at-heart for his entire life.
If you’d like to see more of his work outside of Revolutionized, you can find some of his published articles on The Mars Society, BEE Inc, Manufacturing Business Technology, and Robotics Tomorrow.
Lou has loved writing ever since he could first grip a pencil (in fact, a kindergarten-aged Lou was so desperate to begin writing that he taught himself how to hold a pencil, and never did quite learn the ‘correct’ method later in life).
His teachers encouraged his passion for writing, and very quickly, Lou began to do little more in his free time than write as much as possible, and he ravenously enjoyed lengthy writing assignments from instructors that his peers would otherwise bemoan.
Eventually, Lou transitioned to writing creatively alongside academic writing, and his love for both avenues of expression flourished. In school, he would improve his ability to digest complicated subjects into interesting and informative essays, and at home, he would craft compelling worlds of fiction with grand adventures for characters to embark upon.
Alas, he has no published works of fiction yet. Perhaps someday!
His parents also helped him to discover just how much he loved writing. Alongside reading everything he wrote and providing excellent and invaluable feedback, his parents took him on adventures that rivaled those of the characters in his fictional stories.
Museums, galleries, old battlefields, science exhibitions, and everything in between. Lou consumed it all, and turned all of that knowledge into growth of his writing capabilities and his mental wellspring of educational information he could happily craft into new written works in the future.
It came as little surprise, then, that Lou leaned into English and Writing courses as his studies continued, before finally completing a college degree program in Journalism at the end of his academic journey. An accomplished and confident writer by this point, Lou was able to find a spot at Revolutionized, where he has happily been writing ever since.
Lou’s work at Revolutionized is consistently fulfilling, scratching every itch he could possibly have when it comes to writing about exciting and enriching topics.
His typical process involves scouring a plethora of useful sources for uncovering worthwhile topics to pursue in new articles. Trending news on Google, popular user forums like Reddit, reader suggestions in the comments of Revolutionized articles…if one knows where to look, there’s an almost infinite spring of ideas for articles to write about.
After all, isn’t one of the key tenets of journalism providing the timely and informative answers to the burning questions of the public?
After deciding upon a suitable topic, Lou launches right into researching, amassing a suitable collection of sources and citations he can rely upon as the basis for his upcoming article. He has always felt strongly about properly attributing his sources, ensuring that everyone who poured their heart and soul into their own individual works is properly thanked.
Upon completion of the research phase, the writing process begins. Lou has consistently felt that, if indeed he could be said to have any superpower at all, it would be writing. His fingers simply seem to act on their own as words flow onto the page, his mind slipping into a focused state (with the ever-present help of instrumental music playing in the background).
Then comes editing, formatting the article for Revolutionized, and finally, uploading. But Lou isn’t one to rest on his laurels, often endeavoring to jump straight into the planning stages for his next article as soon as the previous one is complete. His mind is simply filled with too much inspiration and energy to slow down.
That being said, Lou definitely appreciates the value in taking a break from time to time. When not writing, Lou can often be found reading a good Sci-Fi or Fantasy novel or playing through the latest RPG video game.
Recently, Lou has finally felt that he has built up enough of a base at Revolutionized that he can begin using his free time to branch out and find other sites to publish on. His love of writing and providing knowledge to others is exactly what spurred this outreach, which in turn led to Lou discovering Meer.
Lou is thankful for the chance to contribute to Meer, and is hopeful that his collaboration with Meer will be long-lasting and extremely fruitful. And he has no reason to doubt that it will be, as Meer provides Lou the perfect avenue to continue doing what he loves: writing his heart out, and providing useful and exciting knowledge to as many people as possible.
