The open-air exhibition space at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum is located on the museum's lower level and features a permanent display of 18 three-dimensional sculptures from the museum’s collection. The space was designed to integrate art and accessibility, offering a sensory and inclusive experience for all visitors.
The works on display are by prominent names in Brazilian art, representing different movements and periods of national artistic production. Featured artists include Erbo Stenzel, Amélia Toledo, Ângelo Venosa, Bruno Giorgi, Emanoel Araújo, Marcos Coelho Benjamin, Sérvulo Esmeraldo, Tomie Ohtake, and Oscar Niemeyer himself.
To promote inclusion, all sculptures have Braille captions, and visitors are allowed to touch the artworks. In this way, the space invites direct interaction with art, expanding aesthetic perception through touch and reaffirming the museum’s commitment to accessibility and the democratization of culture.
