In this project “RRSS”(Social Networks) Ana Riaño (Bilbao, 1985) investigates the confluence of two different phenomena: the construction of the identity as an artist and its mediation with the new fashion called Social Media.

Thus, the project consists of different pictorial pieces in which Riaño a reproduction of the social networks of artists, gallery owners, museum directors, art critics, and other social agents from the sector.

Sometimes the admiration for an artist also comes from his biography, so the series RRSS shows, at the same time, non-existent screenshots of the life of artists before the contemporary era (Ingres, Dora Maar) as if coexisting with the new technologies and social networks.

As a consequence, the viewer is in front of the artworks where reality and fiction merge into the same level of meaning.
