Salgadeiras Arte Contemporânea presents Tabique, a new solo exhibition by Rita Gaspar Vieira. Continuing the artist’s ongoing investigation into material, spatial, and perceptual relationships, the exhibition proposes an environment in which surfaces no longer function as fixed boundaries but as permeable structures through which memory, presence, and transformation circulate. The title itself evokes a partition that simultaneously separates and connects, establishing a condition of transition rather than closure.

Through a body of works that unfolds as a spatial and sensory experience, Tabique reflects Rita Gaspar Vieira’s sustained interest in the performative dimensions of space and in processes of displacement and reconfiguration. Forms emerge as traces, gestures, and temporary arrangements that challenge stable readings and invite a slower, more attentive engagement with matter. Rather than presenting space as a neutral container, the exhibition treats it as an active field where relationships between bodies, materials, and perception continuously shift.

In Tabique, construction and fragmentation operate as parallel movements. What appears as division also becomes a possibility for encounter; what seems solid reveals itself as provisional and open. Moving between containment and expansion, the exhibition creates a landscape of thresholds in which visitors are invited to navigate not only the physical space of the gallery but also changing states of attention, memory, and imagination.
