Viasaterna is pleased to present L’altro che abito, a group exhibition, opening on Monday, June 8, from 6 to 9 pm.

The exhibition brings together works by seven artists — Marion Baruch, Elisabetta Catalano, Martina Ferrari, Teresa Giannico, Guido Guidi, Camilla Gurgone, Luca Massaro — who, through different photographic practices, reflect on identity as an unstable and relational construction, placing presence and absence, intimacy and exposure, reality and fabrication in tension with one another.

In the exhibited works, portraiture and self-portraiture never coincide with a fixed definition of identity; instead, they become sites of transition and redefinition. The body dissolves into the landscape, multiplies through reflection, is altered by clothing, or reinterpreted by algorithms.

Photography thus ceases to function as a simple documentary tool and becomes an ambiguous space in which memory, imagination, and representation continuously overlap.
