A special focus is dedicated to the archive of the contemporary art magazine Segno, recently acquired by the Museum on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. This presentation offers a unique opportunity to engage with a significant editorial project that has closely followed the evolution of contemporary art over the past five decades.

An unprecedented selection of documents retraces the history of the magazine, founded in Pescara in 1976 by Umberto Sala and Lucia Spadano. From its early years, Segno distinguished itself through its attention to the radical transformations taking place in artistic languages, both within Italy and internationally, documenting shifts in practice, discourse, and exhibition-making.

Over time, segno has played a crucial role in mapping the contemporary art landscape through the contributions of numerous writers and critics. Driven by a sustained commitment to observation and analysis, the magazine has remained attentive to cultural change and innovation, offering a platform that reflects the dynamism and complexity of artistic production across generations.
