Given the perilous condition of American politics in November 2025 and the rapid mental disintegration of Donald Trump, it is impossible to predict what would happen to the Donald and his administration over the coming days and weeks.

To get a sense of American politics today on the Thanksgiving holiday, Trump declared in a late-night rant on his Truth Social. In 500 words he declared he will “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries.” in to “allow order U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all the millions of Biden illegal admissions (sic) including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden Autopen (sic) and removing anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our County.

The immediate cause for the rant was the tragic shooting at the White House of two National Guard soldiers. The Trump administration fully vetted a long-time member Afghanistan CIA counterterrorism unit now living on the West Coast. The Times of India reports that he had mental problems as a result of his war experience. Trump concludes, “Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!” There is more, but you get the drift.

Donald Trump is now a 79-year-old man who apparently is both losing his mind and suffering from multiple physical ailments. He works now in the afternoon. The Presidential schedule is constrained. Trump is simply just a shadow of his former self. He still lies and insults women relentlessly. But he is beginning to be pitied and not feared by politicians. The Republicans are beginning to stand up to Trump. He was forced to release the Epstein files to be released. after further staling. Politicians from Red and Blue states were not on Trump’s side. Former leading Trump champions like Marjorie Taylor Greene are now anti-Trumpers and are leaving office as soon as they qualify.

The justice collapse

There has been a stunning decline in the U.S.Federal Department of Justice, unleashed by Attorney Pam Bondi acts as if she were Donald Trump’s attorney as opposed to an impartial administrator of law. Trump has used the Federal law as a means to indict people he his as his enemies. Most recently, charges were dismissed by Federal judges who ruled that an incompetent Trump lawyer with no experience who volunteered dismissed the cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Chief James Comey were dismissed November 7. Other cases against Trump’s opponents are still pending.

Line prosecutors have refused to take most of these political cases, which have been reserved for Trump loyalists. Trump is also using Red State State attorneys general like Ken Paxton. Paxton is attacking supposed members of Antifa, an organization that does not exist beyond anti fascist sentiments. Paton is in pursuit of scholars and writers who have studied independent anti -fascist groups.

Trump is making headway with Federal lawyers in Florida, led by Jason A. Reding Quiñones, appointed by Trump. He has launched a criminal investigation against a "cabal of Democrats and 'deep-state' operatives" who worked to undermine Trump. These are hardly likely efforts, beyond Florida will ever lead to serious charges by professionals in the thew Justice Department. These cases are examples of Trump’s commitment to pervert the rule of law.

Opposition to Trump

There is now enormous opposition to Trump from a large and diverse group of people. This includes middle-class grandmothers actively opposing ICE and students becoming news people. Trump's approval is in the thirties and dropping.

Trump’s concern seems to focus on building a giant ballroom paid for by MAGA folks and corporations that have something to gain. There are now many large groups, both in small towns and large cities, supporting non-violent resistance to Trump. These include the National No Kings movement with millions of participants and many other non-violent groups of various sizes.

A plan for a non-violent blockade of the Trump White House is being planned for winter 2025. The plan is for a large number of protestors to block entrances and routes non-violently and use marches and sit-ins to disrupt operations.

The response by the Trump administration, of course, is the risk of ultra-violence by the Trump administration which is very enthusiastic about using military violence to kill American citizens. The key challenge is to make it clear, as the civil rights marchers at the Edmond Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, made clear, the nature of the clubs, dogs, and firehoses used by the racist police that shocked the nation.

The key metric is disciplined nonviolence. It’s important to understand that people like war criminal Pete Hegseth, who fancies himself as head of the Department of War, order the murder of civilians at sea.

Ordering boats to be destroyed and survivors killed. Mass nonviolence does not protect all demonstrators from Trump-ordered violence. But it will raise the question of the National Guard and the U.S. Army refusing to use violence to protect civilians. Trump will likely use ICE goons to “protect “ the White House.

Is the end of the Trump administration forthcoming in the near future? Or do further, more dangerous days await? I believe a combination of Trump’s declining health and his mental disability will result in Trump being removed under the 25th Amendment. He will not be impeached or tried for his criminality. He will remain an impediment to democracy, but his rapidly declining mind and health will soon end the tale of DJT.

He will be gone with a long list of remaining crimes that he was never to be sentenced for. If JP Vance does not invoke the 25th Amendment, I believe Congress will take action to force the 25th Amendment as needed.
