Galería Juan Silió is pleased to present the first exhibition at the gallery by artist Philipp Fröhlich (Schweinfurt, Germany, 1975). La cavale brings together a selection of works created since 2020, in which Fröhlich’s characteristic use of light and colour gives form to images constructed from scale models. The resulting paintings are not reproductions but constructs in which reality and illusion converge.

Each work arises from an amalgam of memory, text, and imagination. These scenes, both precise and unstable, are charged with tension and drama. They suggest narratives yet resist resolution, keeping the viewer in a state of suspension.

The exhibition is accompanied by a text written for the occasion by the critic and curator Joaquín Jesús Sánchez.

Philipp Fröhlich (Schweinfurt, Germany, 1975) studied stage design under Karl Kneidl at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf before turning fully to painting in Madrid twenty years ago. He now lives and works between Brussels and Madrid. Over the years, Fröhlich has collaborated with galleries including Soledad Lorenzo and Juana de Aizpuru, where he has exhibited regularly. La Cavale marks his first exhibition at Galería Juan Silió, Madrid.

His work is held in collections such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; the Von der Heydt Museum, Wuppertal; the Museo Patio Herreriano, Valladolid; the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC); and the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M), among others.
