Nerea is a naturally curious storyteller who finds meaning in the quiet details of people's lives. Her work often explores the intersection of culture, identity, and social change. Subjects shaped by a deep empathy, a love of language, and a fascination with the diversity of human experiences. She believes there is power in being a good listener and that storytelling is one of the most meaningful ways we connect, understand, and grow.

Born and raised in London to a Spanish family, Nerea grew up in a multicultural environment that deeply shaped her worldview. Surrounded by different languages, customs, and ways of thinking, she became someone who doesn't just observe the world but seeks to understand it, asking questions, listening closely, and constantly learning. Her parents' openness and encouragement helped her explore her passions freely, and that same openness continues to guide her today.

She holds degrees in anthropology and computer science, two seemingly different fields that both reflect her desire to explore how humans live and how the systems we build shape our lives. She's especially drawn to qualitative research; she loves speaking to people, listening to their stories, and understanding how their experiences are shaped by larger social forces. Her undergraduate dissertation explored gender inequality in sports media, revealing the ways language, perception, and power collide.

Beyond academia, Nerea's writing and thinking are deeply personal. She has a quiet love for writing short stories, usually just for herself, and a longstanding devotion to books, stories that offer both escape and clarity. One book that's stayed with her is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, which reminds her of how powerful kindness can be, especially in the hardest moments of someone's life.

Her writing is fueled by empathy, curiosity, and a belief that real change often begins with awareness. Whether she is exploring how gender is coded in media, investigating the stories behind civilizations, or advocating for justice through creative content, she strives to build bridges between experience and understanding. Writing for her isn’t just about sharing information; it’s about creating space for reflection, dialogue, and transformation.

When she's not writing or researching, Nerea finds peace in her favorite London museums, wandering through galleries and collections that connect her to the past. She reads widely and without genre boundaries, always chasing stories that stay with her.

Reading has always been a quiet but powerful force in Nerea’s life. It’s where her curiosity is nurtured, her empathy deepened, and her imagination constantly expanded. She gravitates toward stories that explore self-discovery and the complexities of human connection. For her, books are more than stories; they are portals into unfamiliar lives, cultures, and ways of thinking. Reading is not just a personal joy for Nerea; it’s the root of her desire to write, research, and connect with others through stories. It has shaped how she understands the world, and it continues to feed her belief that storytelling, in all its forms, is essential to how we grow as individuals and as societies.

Whether she’s immersed in a novel or researching a social issue, she’s always looking for the threads that reveal something deeper about people, cultures, or systems. Books have taught her how to listen, how to feel deeply, and how to articulate what often goes unspoken—and that, she believes, is where real change begins.

She believes empathy and kindness are muscles we build through lived experiences and stories, and she brings that belief into everything she does. Whether she's volunteering, working, or contributing to creative projects. Her favorite quote, "It rained in my head for months, but now, look at all the flowers," speaks to her quiet strength and belief in transformation.

Looking ahead, she hopes to work in roles that allow her to travel and connect with people across cultures, continually learning from different ways of life. For her, travel isn’t just movement—it’s a way to deepen empathy, expand perspective, and feed her lifelong curiosity about the world. Whether through storytelling, research, or cultural work, Nerea is driven by a desire to understand—and to help others feel seen, heard, and represented in the process.
