Gallery 44 is proud to present Low res 2025, on view from July 17 to November 8, 2025, in the Production Gallery in Toronto. This exhibition brings together works created by participants in the Low Res Photo Intensive Course, led by Darren Rigo and Camille Rojas, as part of Gallery 44’s commitment to process-based learning and photographic experimentation.
Featuring artists such as Abhijit Alka Anil, Amara King, Aum Thiruvoth, Charun Upara, Deja Hosein, Hannah Fleisch, Richard Park, and Steffi Ng, the show represents a cross-section of emerging voices in contemporary photography. Their works explore themes of resolution, texture, perception, and the boundaries of image-making, reflecting the course’s emphasis on distillation and creative constraint.
Low res 2025 transforms the gallery into a laboratory where the act of seeing is foregrounded, and photographic processes reveal both intention and chance. With its open-ended format and emphasis on exploration over finality, the exhibition invites viewers to contemplate how we perceive the world through the lens—and through the limits we impose on it.
