In recent decades, group shows, competitions, awards and scholarships have helped publicize proposals by young artists. Reviewing their history allows us to perceive the tenor and spirit of each moment.

Generaciones, a project of Fundación Montemadrid La Casa Encendida, launched in 2000, is today one of the oldest and most prestigious event of its kind, which has become a national benchmark for the most recent artistic creation.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this renowned cultural initiative, the courtyards and galleries of the Marco will showcase Generación 2025, convinced that by changing spaces, the works acquire a new efficacy, and the exhibition, a special impetus.

A professional jury selected the artists Álvaro Chior (A Coruña, 1992), Noela Covelo Velasco (Pontevedra, 1994), Tana Garrido Ruiz (Tarragona, 1989), Marina González Guerreiro (A Guarda, Pontevedra, 1992), Isabel Merchante (Madrid, 1999), Mar Reykjavik (Valencia, 1995), Elián Stolarsky (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1990) and Javier Velázquez Cabrero (Madrid, 1990), highlighting that the winning projects of Generación 2025 share, on the one hand, narratives about desirable futures and about AI as a producer of fiction, and, on the other, an interest in orality, the voice and singing, as well as in the study of memory and the history of time.
