I learn to see. I don't know why now everything
penetrates me deeper, and doesn't stay where it stopped before.
I have an interior that I did not know.
From now on, it receives everything. I do not know what happens.

(Rainer Maria Rilke)

The Rafael Ortiz Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition And finally... water, a plastic, symbolic and sensory journey through one of the most universal and unembraceable elements of the human imagination. From June 11 to July 22, a careful selection of contemporary artists and historical objects invite visitors to immerse themselves -in all senses- in this essential and evocative liquid element.

From the first drawings in Paleolithic caves or Egyptian cryptographs to the Impressionist evocations of Monet and the expressive power of Van Gogh, water has been a constant motif in the history of art. This exhibition pays tribute to this continuity and its ability to reinvent itself in the language of contemporary art.

The tour also addresses the imprint of water in the Andalusian world: pools, fountains and irrigation ditches as forms of aesthetic, spiritual and technical thought. Water, symbol of purity and balance, structures not only gardens and architecture, but also lifestyles and sensibility.
