At the "2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation”, President Xi Jinping proposed that China and Africa should "join hands to advance modernization and build a community with a shared future".
The Tsinghua University Art Museum and the China-Africa Leadership Development Institute (Tsinghua University), supported by the International Art Museum of Gulf of Guinea, jointly host the exhibition African art: a new rediscovery. The exhibition is divided into four chapters: Between humanity and divinity: the religion and ritual, Between human and humanity: the authority and affinity, Between humanity and everything else: the animistic world and The form of beauty: the appropriation in modern art.
A total of 200 pieces (or sets) of works are displayed, presenting the vibrant and diverse nature of African art from multiple perspectives.
