The nature of good fiction is that it dwells in ambiguity.

(E. L. Doctorow)

Linda Lopez plays with form and creates shapes that imply a story without giving away the punch line.

What is real is not the external form but the essence of things. Starting from this truth it is impossible for anyone to express anything essentially real by imitating its exterior surface.

(Constantin Brancusi)

Linda Lopez creates works that imply familiarity without being specific. Linda Lopez creates spaces. Her works are sculptural vignettes. Each piece corresponds to the other in a kind of object dialog that feels vaguely familiar but at the same time is refreshingly unique. Her works invite touch and exploration that engages the viewer to consider further. In her second solo exhibition at the gallery, Intermission, Linda Lopez explores time and space with her assemblages of dust furries, textiles and phantom mounds. These objects capture time in an abstracted world, where moments of pause and frenzy coexist in a delicate balance of past, present and future.
