Mónica Capucho’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery explores color as a dynamic experience shaped by materials, perception, and context, rather than as a fixed or purely descriptive element. By systematically varying colors across different scales and densities, Capucho shows how subtle shifts alter our perception of depth, distance, and visual rhythm.

In the main room, a dramatic contrast between red and blue creates a physical and spatial tension. The warm red appears to advance toward the viewer, evoking energy, while the cool, horizontal blue draws the eye back to create a sense of depth. This exhibition pretends to blur the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and architecture, letting the work inhabit the room itself to offer an immersive sensory experience.

Mónica Capucho was born in Lisboa, Portugal in 1971. The artist has exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions such as Solid matter (Galeria Municipal Vieira da Silva .
