We are thrilled to announce that from the 21st of July till the 2nd of August, Le Dame Art Gallery will be hosting the vigorous works of Italian painter Fabio Mariani.

Born in the neighbourhood of Casalotti in Rome in 1980, Fabio Mariani is a multitalented contemporary artist who is also trained in the art of stage design and engraving. Having studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and having been raised in the country’s capital, he has grown up with artistic expression embedded in his DNA.

Mariani executes his work in a variety of mediums and themes and his niche is the abstracted landscape. Through an array of textures, layers and vibrant colours he provides a glimpse into the artist’s self-perception of the world and describes his artwork as continually caught by ‘rhythmic impulse’. He loves working with the principles of conflict and this is encapsulated by paintings such as ‘The Awful Day of the Toys Thief When He Discovered that his Secret Hideout along the River State was robbed’. Here Mariani creates a dialogue between: rough against smooth, matte amongst polished and transparent colours amongst tone deaf. Like the true performer, his canvases are full of heterogeneous elements, like an exhilarating orchestra of music.

Mariani’s art represents a sense of spirituality and serves as a mode of visual storytelling about an artist who is well travelled yet keeps an intimate bond with his childhood home. He still resides and paints in the neighbourhood where he grew up, which highlights the importance of his roots as a pivotal source of inspiration in his landscape paintings.

Painting with personality and instinct, Fabio Mariani is a multi-award winning artist. He has exhibited his artworks in several museums and galleries in Italy and abroad and his works can be found in private and public collections.
