Alzueta Gallery presents Notas al pie (Footnotes), a collective exhibition that brings together works by seventeen artists with a shared element: paper, which proves to be a versatile medium where different materialities, techniques and languages converge. This show emerges as a parallel tour of the usual program, joining works of art from different projects and periods that, nonetheless, share a connecting thread and a subtle dialogue among them.
Paper, with its fragility and its capacity to absorb immediacy, serves here as the common space. Pastel, acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil, ink and mixed techniques coexist in a plural ensemble where abstraction and figuration interlink without hierarchies. Each artist approximates the medium in their singular way: some works explore the sculptural dimensions of paper, others focus on texture or relief, and others in the richness of pictorial techniques.
Notas al pie does not aim to construct a closed narrative but to open a lateral space: a margin where the diversity of techniques applied to the same material allows new connections to emerge. Just like footnotes in a text, these works broaden the main narrative and fill it with nuances, offering new ways to approach the artistic medium and the creative process.
The show will be on view from November 18th through December 9th at Alzueta Gallery Barcelona Turó, presenting works by Hugo Alonso, Manolo Ballesteros, Sune Christiansen, Klas Ernflo, Sabine Finkenauer, Antonio González, Gabrielle Graessle, Hiroki Kawanabe, David Macho, Francisco Mendes Moreira, Guillem Nadal, Alejo Palacios, Maru Quiñonero, James Rielly, Xevi Solà, Claudia Valsells and Luis Vidal.
