The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with Gábina Fárová. It offers a focused tribute to the multifaceted legacy of Libor Fára, a key figure in Czech visual culture whose work spanned painting, sculpture, typography, stage and costume design, and pedagogy. This project reflects a shared effort to highlight the artist’s significant contributions across disciplines, brought together in a compelling presentation.

Held to mark the centenary of his birth, the exhibition places special emphasis on Fára’s distinctive achievements in book and graphic design. His approach combined visual innovation with a precise sense of form and function, resulting in a body of work that continues to influence and inspire. The selection of works on display provides insight into his creative process and the broader cultural context in which he worked.

To commemorate Libor Fára’s birthday (12 September 1925 – 3 March 1988), GASK will host a discussion on 13 September, featuring personal recollections from his contemporaries. This gathering will offer a more intimate perspective on Fára’s life and career, enriching the exhibition with shared memories and reflections from those who knew him and collaborated with him during his prolific career.
