Cross section

The exhibition presents Cross section, a conceptual jewellery project by Jaroslav Kučera, the founding designer behind the KOW design brand. It sets his latest brooch collection in dialogue with earlier works from the illuminated Clouds series. This thoughtful juxtaposition highlights the evolution of his artistic practice and his ongoing engagement with form, material, and light.

In the Cross section collection, Kučera delves into architectural and anatomical reference points—brooches become miniature models of layers and internal structures, rendered in precision-cut metals and subtle texturing. These new pieces stand in stark contrast to the ambient luminosity of the Clouds collection, where translucent materials, soft glows, and ethereal shapes evoke shifting skies and ephemeral forms.

Together, the two collections map a compelling trajectory: from the atmospheric lightness of Clouds to the rigorously structured geometry of Cross section.
