Continuing their 9-year-long partnership with LAUSD in 2025, Branded Arts is thrilled to bring a week of curated arts programming to Augustus F. Hawkins High School. Having facilitated over 700 mural projects in over 70 cities around the world, Branded Arts brings not only world-renowned muralists, but an education component that empowers students to understand and pursue a career in the arts.
Branded Arts is committed to building a bespoke program for each school that brings together internationally known muralists and local artists, fostering community building and exposing students to a wide array of influences. It is an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage in every aspect of the arts process, from coming up with themes for the work, to painting, and gallery creation.
From May 12th to May 16th, Branded Arts brings artists including Cryptik, Lauren YS, and RABI, Andi Xoch, Anthony Pittman, Christian Garcia Perez Clover, Enkone, Gabby Claro, Janet Rodriguez, Joan “Zeta” Zamora, Juvia, Josh Everhorn, Love Yo Dreams, Mel Depaz, MEUZ, Ni Santas, and Sickid.
Complete with an arts symposium, the initiative opens students’ eyes to a world of possibilities within the creative industries, which are essential to Los Angeles. This edition will include collaborators including the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, the Office of Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Versa Dance Company, Color Compton, Soapbox.us, Behr paint, Sony Pictures Animation, and Hijinx Arts for an equally involved exploration of the creative economy.
As Branded Arts President Warren Brand explains, “I believe it is incredibly important for everyone, especially kids, to find their creative outlet, as it can support them in all aspects of life. I want students to start thinking about the creative economy, whether that is art, design, music, fashion, film, media, or beyond. There are so many exciting networks and opportunities out there. If a Branded Arts project can inspire students to think more creatively and expansively, beyond just the core curriculum, then that is a win.”
Dr. Cynthia Castillo, the Community School Coordinator for Augustus F. Hawkins Senior High School, explains the magic of Branded Arts saying, “The best part of working with Branded Arts is not just the amazing artists showcasing their beautiful art on our campus walls but that they are diverse and local artists who are actively engaging with our students and community to make this a collective process. As a community school, this is essential for us.”
