Spalding Nix Fine Art is pleased to announce A fine line, a presentation of four concurrent exhibitions by Kate Hooray Osmond, Nancy Talero, Shannon Davis, and Laura Dargan. Together, these shows examine the intersections of representation and abstraction, structure and intuition, and personal narrative and broader cultural frameworks. Each artist brings a distinct perspective while contributing to a cohesive exploration of perception and transition.
Charleston-based interdisciplinary artist Kate Hooray Osmond presents Americana, a body of vibrant and expressive genre scene paintings that explore her evolving relationship with the shifting landscape of America. Atlanta-based artist Nancy Talero’s Super nature features a series of geometric, modular paintings that investigate the merging and blurred boundaries between the natural and supernatural worlds, using pattern and repetition to suggest systems both organic and imagined.
Atlanta-based multimedia artist Shannon Davis’s Conversations in motion consists of photographic digital compositions that treat the formal aspects of design as malleable, ongoing dialogues. Charleston-based artist Laura Dargan’s Threshold of actuality pays homage to nature, exploring the space between abstraction and reality through cyanotype and painting. Together, these four exhibitions offer a nuanced and layered examination of contemporary artistic practice.
