The High's collection of modern and contemporary art comprises more than 2,400 works dating from 1946 to the present and includes paintings, sculpture, prints, and drawings by many of the most influential artists of our time.

Installed on the Skyway level of the Susan and John Wieland Pavilion, the modern and contemporary collection features several galleries dedicated to the work of contemporary masters such as Alex Katz, Ellsworth Kelly, and Gerhard Richter.

In addition, a younger generation of contemporary art is represented in the collection by the work of such artists as David Adamo, Thomas Houseago, and Matthew Day Jackson.
