Curated by the Brazilian Thais Gouveia, the Intermittent Topographies exhibition has been showed in Buenos Aires and now it is opening in São Paulo gathering works from Brasilian and Argentinian artists: Beto Shwafaty, Carolina Zancolli, Marcelo Moscheta, Mariana Sissia, Renata de Bonis, Renata Padovan, Samuel Lasso, Santiago Porter and Sol Pochat.
As a result from an artistic residence that the curator Thais Gouveia had made in Buenos Aires in 2016, part of the C.Lab’s Mercosul award, the artworks gathered for this exhibition have a common discussion about the human intervention on the surrounding landscapes. The artists thought are always aligned with the ecological, the social and the political meanings on this subject.
Through paintings, installations, sculptures and photographies, the artists are reflecting about the landscape’s artistic gender within the spirit of this time – which is remarkable for numerous environmental disasters, the masses extinctions of several animals and humans, economic crises, wars, migrations and the processes of closing borders.
