During Art Basel Paris, Perrotin unveils Panorama, an ambitious group exhibition staged at Perrotin Matignon, near the fair at the Grand Palais. This group presentation will bring together a selection of works by twenty-six artists from the gallery’s programme, including Hernan Bas, Anna-Eva Bergman, Sophie Calle, Maurizio Cattelan, Bernard Frize, Laurent Grasso, Hans Hartung, Jeppe Hein, Klara Kristalova, Jean-Michel Othoniel and Jesús Rafael Soto, among others.

As part of Panorama, the gallery presents a special focus on the new series of Josh Sperling, Concentric stars.

Josh Sperling’s practice, is centered around an ongoing investigation of color, form, and the possibilities of shaped canvas. Drawing on the traditions of Minimalism and color theory, particularly the work of Josef Albers and Frank Stella, his Concentric series explores the interaction of color through rhythmic, interlocking bands that radiate outward from a central point. Each composition uses carefully calibrated variations in hue, saturation, and tone to create a sense of depth and movement.

His latest works, the Concentric stars, introduce a new, undulating silhouette to the series, extending his exploration of color and form beyond the conventional picture plane. Their sculptural contours and gradual chromatic transitions create a dynamic interplay between shape, color, and space.

Alongside his paintings, Sperling has recently expanded into furniture and functional design, translating the modularity, color, and craftsmanship central to his work into seating and other design objects.
