The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes displays Eugenio Dittborn: stories of the face, the first solo exhibition in Argentina of the prominent figure in contemporary Latin American art, curated by Justo Pastor Mellado in collaboration with the Matta Cultural Center of the Chilean Embassy in Argentina.
In conceiving this exhibition of Dittborn (Santiago, Chile, 1943), “Mellado’s great challenge has been to present, or represent, through a small group of works and historical documents, the conceptual power of the artist’s creative universe,” explains Andrés Duprat, director of the Museum.
“To that end, he selected a series of large-format drawings created in 2022, a large airmail painting from the 1990s, and two publications he produced between 1976 and 1979, which became landmarks in Chilean publishing and visual history”, he adds.
