Galleria de’ Foscherari presents Continental, a solo exhibition by Eva Marisaldi in collaboration with Enrico Serotti, curated by Leonardo Regano. The project offers a reflection on Eurasia as a mental and performative territory, deconstructing the rigid geopolitical divisions between Europe and Asia through a cycle of new works ranging from video to drawing, from sculpture to installation.
From the video work DJ, featuring an Afghan worker acting as a deejay, to the series of drawings Continental, a vernacular archive of contemporary Eurasia, and the sound installation For Ken Loach, a tribute to collective solidarity inspired by the cinema of the British director, Eva Marisaldi activates operations of estrangement and détournement.
The works intercept cultural flows, fragments, and residues, presenting Eurasia not as a geographical unit to be mapped, but as a relational space to be traversed. In the footsteps of Marco Polo as reread by Shklovsky, Marisaldi and Serotti construct a non-linear journey that dissolves consolidated identity narratives, making visible forms of belonging and cohesion through minor gestures and everyday practices.
