We are pleased to present a small exhibition with works on paper and sculpture in the inner room of the gallery by Klara Kristalova. It is a selection of works from the recent solo exhibition Habitat at Skellefteå konsthall in Sweden.

Later this spring, Klara Kristalova will be presented in the Nordic Countries Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026. The Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma has selected three artists, Klara Kristalova, Benjamin Orlow and Tori Wrånes, for the exhibition which is curated by Kiasma’s Chief Curator, Anna Mustonen, and commissioned by Kiasma in collaboration with Moderna Museet, Sweden, and OCA – Office for Contemporary Art Norway.

Klara Kristalova creates expressive sculptures that blend fairytale-like imagery with themes of isolation, transformation, and psychological depth. Her works, often made from glazed ceramics, embody a tactile sense of vulnerability and evoke memories of childhood emotions.

Klara Kristalova, b.1967 in Prague, lives and works outside of Norrtälje, Sweden. She studied at The Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm (1988–1993). Kristalova established herself with a number of exhibitions and public commissions in Sweden before her international recognition in the late 2000s. She has since then exhibited at galleries and museums around the world including solo exhibitions at Site Santa Fe, USA (2009), SFMoMA, San Francisco, USA (2011), Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm, Sweden (2012), Göteborgs Konstmuseum, Sweden (2013), Västerås Konstmuseum, Sweden (2013), Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, USA (2015) and Gl Strand, Copenhagen, Denmark (2017).
