SpazioA is proud to present, Saturday January 24, 2026, Luca Bertolo's seventh solo show at the gallery Dance.

The artist presents works never shown before, including a series of paintings done on dishcloths titled Faces, and the large canvas, Dance, that gives the exhibition its name. Painted between November and December 2021, Dance has never been shown before at the request of the artist, who feared its disturbing prophecy would be seen as having been made after the Russian army’s invasion of Ukraine and not (by a very short time) before.

Dance is action. Dance is imperative. Dance is refrain, condemnation to eternal repetition. We dance to forget. Give shape to wonder. Sometimes we dance because there’s nothing else to do.

Oh, Sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
Sinnerman,
Where you gonna run to?
Where you gonna run to?

All on that day

Well, I run to the Rock
“Please hide me,” I run to the Rock
“Please hide me,” I run to the Rock
“Please hide me,” Lord

All on that day

But the rock cried out
“I can’t hide you,” the Rock cried out
“I can’t hide you,” the Rock cried out
I ain’t gonna hide you guy

All on that day

I said, “Rock –
What’s a matter with you, Rock?
Don’t you see I need you, Rock?”
Lord, Lord, Lord

All on that day

(Excerpt of Sinnerman, by Nina Simone, 1965)
