Kristof De Clercq Gallery is pleased to present Saturnus, a solo exhibition by Belgian artist Johan De Wilde, on view 18 January – 14 February 2026 at the gallery’s exhibition space in Gent, Belgium. The show marks De Wilde’s first solo presentation with the gallery and highlights a compelling new body of work that reflects his ongoing engagement with form, narrative, and material interplay.
The exhibition opened with a public reception and book launch on Sunday, 18 January, in the presence of the artist. In Saturnus, De Wilde expands upon his distinctive approach to time, memory, and symbolic imagery, inviting viewers to consider the intersections of personal history and collective experience in visual form. The display will feature a selection of recent works that emphasize the artist’s nuanced exploration of visual structure and conceptual depth.
Through this exhibition, Saturnus offers a contemplative space in which visual symbolism and material presence converge. The works on view unfold as fragments of a larger narrative, inviting viewers to engage with themes of time, transformation, and introspection. De Wilde’s nuanced approach encourages a slow, attentive viewing experience, where meaning emerges gradually through the interplay of image, form, and atmosphere.
