Writing my biography, I reflect and remember.
My name is Patricia Audrey Hakim. I was born in Ottawa, Canada, to Lebanese parents and raised between two cultures: one inside the home, another with society.
Fast forward a couple of decades: I married in Beirut, Lebanon, and found myself reintroduced to Lebanese culture from the opposite direction—where social life often outweighs individuality. Those first years of adaptation, along with raising three young boys, kept me in constant motion between schools, playdates, and activities.
Yet in any spare time I found, I built two routines that transformed me, which are fitness and learning. I became passionately addicted to both. Mornings at the gym were followed by courses in history, mythology, and world religions. I was curious and fascinated by how we function as human beings and how the human condition has evolved throughout time.
These courses also pushed me toward self-reflection. They made me more observant of my environment and more aware of myself within it.
As my children grew more independent, I felt a calling to make a broader contribution. It was time for my internal growth to lead to external impact.
So I dove into a new chapter of education: Certification in Mediation at Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut, Non-Violent Communication at AUNOHR, Academic University for Non-Violence and Human Rights, NLP and Hypnotherapy certifications from the American Board of NLP, and public speaking training with Dr. Hady Safa, along with workshops in storytelling, negotiation, and more.
During these learning experiences, a realization took shape. In partner exercises, colleagues consistently told me they felt calm, safe, and open in my presence. Conversations with me became a space of peace and honesty. It was a repeated, beautiful pattern.
Around that time, WhatsApp voice notes were becoming popular—and my voice gained a reputation of its own: smooth, soothing, and reassuring.
And then, a Eureka moment! I could combine both of these gifts. A safe space for open dialogue and the voice to deliver it.
A podcast was born.
With encouragement from my teachers and coaches, I stepped forward, nervous, anxious, and hopeful, and did it anyway. It wasn’t easy to organize logistics while building self-confidence, but I persevered.
Today, my podcast has grown into its professional form: “10 Questions for an Extraordinary' Person”—recorded in a studio, featuring guests from different fields, backgrounds, and walks of life. What amazes me most is how many extraordinary people are around us. The list truly has no end. From them, I learned that the extraordinary is within everyone. All it needs is belief, curiosity, and effort.
And my journey continues. Alongside podcasting, I discovered my newfound love of writing. Thoughts that stirred in my heart needed a home, and words became their expression.
I created a blog, A Note To Think About, where I share personal, philosophical reflections. My intention is not to persuade but to inspire others to think for themselves and to find their own balance, confidence, and authenticity.
I also unexpectedly became a poet! Through a community on LinkedIn. Every week, I publish a poem under #ThursdayPoetrySociety, and it has brought me tremendous joy.
But I’m not finished. I’m only getting started.
I now record audiobooks using my voice. I host live discussions with extraordinary guests. I am ghostwriting the biography of a man of industry.
My mind is in creative motion, driven, imaginative, and hungry to explore more. I think boldly, innovate fearlessly, and never say never.
Because this is not the end of my story. It is only the beginning.
And as I move forward, I remain committed to growth, connection, and creativity, embracing every challenge as an invitation to evolve further.
