Tia Lewis is a 25-year-old writer, globetrotter, and observer of the world, born and raised in East London. With a mixed heritage and a home city centred around diversity, she grew up surrounded by different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life. This exposure shaped her into an open-minded individual, allowing her to absorb experiences that many only read about.

From a young age, Tia found herself drawn to history, politics, and the deeper questions of human existence. This passion led her to study English literature and politics at the University of Westminster, where she earned her BA Hons. Beyond academics, she always knew she had a spark—a curiosity, ideas, and a voice that demanded to be heard.

Her independent spirit was evident early on. Tia has been working since she was 16, carrying a worker’s mentality and a deep sense of self-reliance. Throughout university, she navigated corporate environments, gaining firsthand insight into the intersections of class, culture, and identity. Moving between East London’s vibrant, multicultural energy and the often-homogeneous world of white-collar business, she became acutely aware of how different people see the world. Yet, her adaptability and charisma always set her apart. Extroverted, versatile, and non-judgemental, she has an innate ability to connect with anyone—from a business owner to a homeless person, from an old friend in East London to a university peer from Russian royalty. To Tia, people are people, and she sees them for who they are, not what they have.

Travel has played a pivotal role in shaping her worldview. Her parents instilled a love for exploration early on, taking her on eye-opening trips to destinations like Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, and Turkey. These experiences taught her that not everyone is afforded the same opportunities in life. Witnessing both beauty and struggle firsthand deepened her empathy, particularly for refugees and immigrants who sacrifice everything for a better future. Tia is outspoken on these issues, unafraid to challenge perspectives—even when it means standing her ground against friends and family.

After university, she initially pursued a career as an account manager in property but quickly realised it wasn’t where her heart lay. Writing had always been her calling, and she took a leap of faith, joining Beau Monde Traveller, a luxury digital publication. There, she honed her craft, learning the ins and outs of digital media while continuing to work as a coordinator. Now, as she steps into freelance writing, she is carving her own path—telling the stories she believes in, shedding light on overlooked narratives, and travelling the world to capture its raw, authentic essence.

Though she enjoys luxury, she is never confined by it. Whether staying in high-end resorts or venturing into the streets of Zanzibar or Jamaica, she seeks out real experiences, immersing herself in local cultures rather than just observing from a distance. She thrives in the in-between spaces—between the polished and the unfiltered, between privilege and perseverance.

Beyond writing and travel, Tia has a lifelong love for performing arts, dance, and fitness. She views exercise as a holistic practice—mind, body, and soul—and credits it with keeping her balanced and mentally strong. She has a hunger for knowledge, constantly reading, studying human behaviour, and engaging in deep conversations about philosophy, politics, and life’s bigger picture. Her friends would describe her as a good vibe—fun, intelligent, caring, outspoken, and always seeking to leave people better than she found them.

Her dream is clear: to travel to developing countries, document people’s lives, and bring awareness to global issues that many overlook. She has an unwavering love for humanity and an open heart for every culture, every place, and every story. With a sharp mind, a keen eye for fashion (a natural by-product of growing up in one of the world’s fashion capitals), and a love for music that moves the soul, Tia is a walking contradiction in the best way—outgoing yet introspective, stylish yet substance-driven, fearless yet deeply reflective.

Above all, she has realised that her greatest power is simply being herself—unapologetically and authentically.
