A glasshouse or greenhouse in its simplest form has accompanied the friends of art since 2020. This conventional plastic-aluminum object from the hardware store is rich in multi-layered symbolic power and thus opens up a wide field of themes for fantasy, hence the title Glasshouse fantasy.

Friendsofart

Since 1999, the freundinnenderkunst (friends of art) have been working as an artist collective in Linz, developing projects in the form of interventions and performances with multiple authors. They stage themselves and collectively create new images of their own experiences and critically reflected experiences of the present. The collective currently consists of Claudia Dworschak, Marion Klimmer, Helga Lohninger, and Viktoria Schlögl, who, as artists in residence in Namibia, realized their eleventh glasshouse project, their 11th Glashausfantasie (Glasshouse fantasy) in 2024.

Glasshouse fantasy - the exhibition

The exhibition and spatial unfolding of the collective's series of works at the FC, a museum for photography and media art, provides an insight into the artists' work, their stagings, interventions and performances in the form of photographic series, videos and installations.
