Space time jumping at Oliver Cole Gallery presents a captivating exhibition by Hungarian artist NagyMolnar, featuring their evocative sculptures and immersive site-specific installations. Through a masterful blend of materials and conceptual depth, NagyMolnar invites viewers on a journey that challenges their perceptions of space and time, encouraging them to consider the fluid and interconnected nature of reality.

NagyMolnár is an artist duo comprised of Hungarian artists Krisztián Nagy and Csaba Molnár. They are known for their distinctive work that blends Op Art and Light Art, often referred to as "geo-optical light sculpture."

The duo launched their Mysterlight or Geometry of light art project in 2020, following extensive technological experimentation. Their artistic approach combines traditional glass art techniques with light design, using physical properties of special glass and geometric patterns to create immersive visual experiences. Their work often explores profound questions about existence, the origin of the world, and the meaning of human presence.

NagyMolnár's creations are characterized by their innovative use of light as a "material," shaping it into simple geometric patterns and complex spatial networks. They utilize special glass mirrors to introduce new perspectives and create the illusion of "infinite space," conjuring spectacles reminiscent of black holes, space-time tunnels, and galaxies. While their artworks are visible in daylight, they are designed to offer their most captivating views in the evening and at night, transforming spaces into mystical realms.

They are influenced by the legacy of Victor Vasarely, a pioneer of the Op Art movement, whose work inspired them to experiment with art in 3D space. They also draw inspiration from the philosophy and artistic legacy of György Kepes, another significant figure in Hungarian light art. NagyMolnár places their work at the intersection of Op Art and Light Art, aiming to provide observers with novel visual experiences that challenge perceptions of physicality and space.

NagyMolnár has exhibited their work in galleries and museums across Europe, the USA, and Australia, gaining critical acclaim. In 2024, they launched a new exhibition concept titled New dimensions, which features wall paintings and new variations incorporating convex, concave, and other deformed glass elements. In the same year, they won the Audience Award in the Light Art category of the "Master of Light 2024" award. Their work has been featured at prominent events like the Zsolnay Light Festival and art shows like Art Miami.
