Starting from a repertoire linked to geometric abstraction and gender and sexuality activism, Ad Minoliti proposes a new model of artistic education, transforming the exhibition room into a space for theoretical-practical learning.
The eighth edition of the Feminist school of painting was conceived as a site-specific to Galeria Praça, a space that was once a classroom.
Upon entering the Grand Gallery, the public has access to the manifesto of the Feminist school of painting, in dialogue with a set of abstract works from the Pinacoteca collection, made by female artists who have been prominent in Brazil from the 1950s to the present day. In the space, there are works by Lygia Pape,Judith Lauand,Maria Bonomi,Schendel sight,Moussia Pinto Alves,Rebecca Carapiá and Tomie Ohtake.
The workshop
The public will also have access to a studio, equipped with tables and chairs for manual work, fanzine shelves and a monitor to consult a compilation of videos related to topics such as theory. queer, natural sciences, geometry, politics and radical pedagogies. It is in this space that the program of workshops and speeches by personalities who respond to the School's premises from their respective fields of knowledge will take place every two weeks until the end of the exhibition.
The entire space is equally taken up by a large mural painting, whose vibrant colors and shapes go beyond the frames and make the environment both inviting and disconcerting.
