Starting in 2024 with the multi-hued variegated works by Carol John, Sunniness will brighten a dark winter’s day.

John’s art, with its colorful patterns, has an intimacy to them that invites the viewer to engage on a deeper level. The vibrant diversity of this body of work with its bright warmth has an uplifting and mood-enhancing effect. There is an optimistic experience that John’s work, specifically ‘Sunniness’ has to offer, we need reinforcement in these difficult times to sustain us.

Born in the USA and educated in Europe, Carol John spent her childhood in museums and art classes. Ms. John attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and now resides in Athens, Georgia. For the last 20 years, she has gone into her studio every morning at 8:30.

When I am in my studio I try to push the colors into bursts of energy that explode on the canvas. I want my work to animate the space that it inhabits. It is this energy between the eye and the mind that interests me.
