Viridian Artists is pleased to present the recent work of Renée Borkow. This latest group of drawings and prints titled In The City was motivated by looking at cityscapes or environmental inspirations in many less-known locations throughout the city.

Borkow focuses on the juxtaposition and combination of geometric or architectural buildings, combined with the organic and natural lines and shapes of trees or nature. Color is a major emphasis, and each composition engages the eye of the viewer in a visual push-pull effect, creating a strong sense of movement throughout. The differences between the calm and quiet spaces and the energy-packed noisy ones are apparent, and make seeing the work both meditative and exciting.

Renée Borkow lives and works in New York City. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, and has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University. She has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Florida, Lyon and Pittsburgh.
