The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild), producers of the world- renowned Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, have partnered with the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce to bring you the second annual Brighton Street Art Fair. This event, located in the heart of downtown Brighton will take place on August 22-24 and will be free to the public. The fine art fair will showcase 100+ artists, live music, and kids’ activities, and is within walking distance of convenient parking as well as wonderful restaurants and shops along and near Main Street.
This fine art fair will include approximately 100 jury-selected artists, featuring jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber and more. The featured artwork for this year’s event is created by Anne Erlewine (Painting; Ann Arbor, MI), who won the Best in Show prize at the inaugural Brighton Street Art Fair last year. There will be several local and regional artists, such as last year’s 3rd Place Winner, Natalie Liu (Ceramics; Milan, MI); Busarin Kittichareonsup (Jewelry; Westfield, IN); Armando Pedroso (Mixed Media; Fennville, MI); Corey & Stacey Bechler (Ceramics; Honor, MI); and Joe Cyberski (Jewelry; Dexter, MI).
In addition to the many talented artists selling their work throughout the weekend, the Brighton Art Guild will host a kids’ activities tent offering free, family-friendly fun. Live entertainment will also be featured in the bandshell at Brighton Mill Pond, including a performance by the Ann Arbor band Ain’t Dead Yet on Friday, August 22, followed by Green Things Band on Saturday night. There are also many restaurants along and nearby Main Street and Grand River Ave, including El Arbol Taqueria and The Reserve Steakhouse, to enjoy food and refreshments indoors or out on the street among the artist tents.
“We’re honored to work together again with the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce to make this an annual event,” said Karen Delhey, Executive Director of The Guild. “The community really embraced the fair when it launched last year, which was so exciting to see. We look forward to continuing to bring talented artists from Michigan and beyond to downtown Brighton, while providing fun for all ages and collaborating with local businesses.”
