Portals take us to the unusual, or the unexpected, or the familiar seen in a new way. This conceptual work is sufficiently ambiguous to allow multiple interpretations. For example, one interpretation is to see portals as symbolic of the body's sensory mechanisms that link our interior consciousness to the external world.

While the square within the white border that has been rotated 45 degree provides continuity across the series, the diversity of subjects in the images reflects the incredible variety of the world we live in. One can't go astray by approaching the work with a sense of play, both serious and frivolous.
