This is not a building. This is not a newspaper. This is a photograph. This photo study explores the relationship between image, word and object by conflating images of the New York Times building and the newspaper itself through double exposures.

The chance results explore alternatives to accepted notions of “good composition.”

In determining which photographs to exhibit, I’ve tried to develop and adhere to self-imposed criteria: does the image exhibit density? Does the image exhibit formal patterns? Is the image readable?
