The exhibition highlights the photographic sequences and experimental films that Iole de Freitas produced during her stay in Italy from 1970 to 1978.
They register the artist's interaction with mirrors, glass, metal pieces and fabrics in her studio, to reflect on two-dimensional images, space, and temporality. In this phase, the representation of the body appears as the main theme.
Iole de Freitas photographed and filmed herself, always dominating focus and timing, which made her production an intense physical and mental exercise.
