The work of the Luxembourg artist Su-Mei Tse (b. 1973) is permeated by an engagement with time, identity, memory, music and language. Photography, video and object art form the focus of her work. She uses these to articulate the transitions between differently layered spheres, between sound and image, nature and culture, mental space and sensual experience.

In the solo exhibition Nested, Su-Mei Tse presents the fruits of her work from the last few years. After staying in such different countries as Italy and Japan she has produced new works which are being shown in Switzerland for the first time. The artist develops a very dense and poetical path through the exhibition, in which the visual enters into a curious interplay with music, sounds and silence, as if time and temporality had acquired a different scale.

The exhibition is organised by Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (MUDAM) in Luxembourg and the Aargauer Kunsthaus in collaboration with the Yuz Museum (yuzm) in Shanghai and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM). The international tour of the exhibition received generous funding from the National Cultural Fund, Luxembourg, and is made possible through significant support from Cargolux Airlines International.
