In this exhibition, the artist turns to drawing, which for him embodies the most primordial medium of art. With precise lines, Constantin Luser depicts visual worlds drawn from his sketchbooks. He interconnects and integrates the sometimes bizarre and fantastical objects, forms, and figures into a complex network of lines.

With his so-called “spatial drawings”—sculptures made of brass wire—Luser translates the element of drawing into the third dimension. The shadows cast by the sculptures, which float freely in space, in turn project the drawing back onto the wall surface.

Luser’s distinctive sculptures are musical instruments that he deforms, reassembles, or expands in order to translate his world of drawing into an acoustic space for contemplation.
