Gerhard Haderer – this name stands for pointed, humorous drawings and apt commentary on current events – artfully rendered on paper. Haderer's caricatures, with their photorealistic quality, invite closer inspection. Then they catch us off guard with their initially hidden message, leaving us astonished, laughing, wondering, and pondering.
Pointed commentator
The artist's name is also the title of this exhibition, featuring a colorful selection of his most recent cartoons – offering pointed commentary on politics, sports, everyday life, and world events. Among them are animals that bear a striking resemblance to international politicians, police officers on the trail of the darknet, and Venetians delighted by the arrival of hordes of tourists. All guaranteed hand-drawn! Several sketches offer a glimpse behind the scenes, revealing how these images are created. Haderer has already demonstrated his versatility on numerous occasions. He regularly draws his black-and-white comic "Moff," paints in oils, has brought politicians to the stage as puppets, founded the School of Disobedience, and performs his live cartoon show.
Passionate drawer
His true passion, however, is drawing. From this passion, entirely new and unique images have emerged, which are being shown for the first time in this exhibition – a world premiere! Exquisite ink drawings, reduced to their essence and skillfully employed with color elements, open up a gentle world where every moment counts. On display are touching scenes, portraits of famous personalities, colorful clowns, knights at Weight Watchers, and contrasting figures encountered on the street.
