Galleria Franco Noero is pleased to present Pensieri belli, the second solo exhibition by Gabriel Sierra in the spaces of Via Mottalciata.
According to the artist, matter and space are not opposing elements, but different states belonging to the same sphere. Boundaries, whether physical or imaginary, are not lines, but rather intricate thresholds that shape the world.
The overall relationship between things and space produces the complex perceptual phenomenon known as atmosphere. The title of the exhibition refers to a specific work, a group of letters made from laser-cut sandpaper, fixed to the wall with nails to form the phrase Pensieri belli (Beautiful thoughts). These two words can suggest different concepts, possibilities, development, but in particular sense they can refer to the idea of creation, creation as pure optimism. Optimism as a kind of abstract inner feeling, rare and transcendental, that confronts chaos and uncertainty. The question in this case seems to be how to translate these feelings into something of a predetermined form, or into things that resist their most direct definition.
