A glasshouse or greenhouse in its simplest form has accompanied freundinnenderkunst since 2020. The conventional plastic-aluminum object from the hardware store is rich in multifaceted symbolic power and thus opens up a wide field of themes for imagining, hence the title Glasshouse fantasy.

Freundinnenderkunst

Since 1999, freundinnenderkunst has been working as an artists' collective in Linz, developing projects in the form of interventions and performances through multiple authorship. They stage themselves and collectively create new images of experiences and critically reflected perceptions of the present. The collective currently consists of Claudia Dworschak, Marion Klimmer, Helga Lohninger, and Viktoria Schlögl, who in 2024, as artists in residence in Namibia, were able to realize their eleventh Glasshouse project, their eleventh Glasshouse fantasy.

Glasshouse fantasy - the exhibition

The exhibition and spatial unfolding of the collective's series of works at the FC as a museum for photography and media art provides an insight into the work of the artists, their stagings, interventions and performances in the form of photographic series, videos and installations.
