Schoolhouse Gallery is pleased to present Mark Adams, a solo exhibition showcasing the latest work by the celebrated Provincetown-based painter, printmaker, and cartographer. The exhibition runs from August 22 to September 14, 2025, and explores Adams’s ongoing engagement with ecological awareness and the blending of personal and environmental narratives.
Adams’s new body of work represents a continuation of his "environmental autobiography," expressing concerns about climate change, shifting ecosystems, and humanity’s connection to the natural world. Working across a variety of materials—including paint, paper, wood, fabric, graphite, and canvas—Adams channels his experience as a former National Park Service cartographer into layered compositions teeming with sensory and ecological resonance
This exhibition invites viewers to experience deeply textured and contemplative works that prompt reflection on perception, memory, and our environmental footprint. Mark Adams reflects Schoolhouse Gallery’s commitment to presenting artists whose practice bridges scientific inquiry and poetic expression, inspiring both local and global conversations about art’s role in understanding nature.
