“The world is a book and those who do not travel, read only one page” – Saint Augustin.

The Minster Gallery presents at the Mall Galleries in London a major solo exhibition of new paintings by London-based artist Patrick Gibbs.

Inspired by his recent travels to Asia and Africa, this new collection of paintings reflects Patrick Gibbs’ talent to portray, in strikingly rich and vibrant colours, the everyday lives of the people and landscapes of exotic lands such as Burma, Cuba, India, Laos, Madagascar, Morocco, Sri Lanka and Zanzibar.

The viewer is taken through Patrick’s travels, and left with a feeling of wanting to know more about the people of these timeless places.

The quality and variety Patrick has to offer, in this latest exhibition, is a culmination of his work as an artist for the last thirty years and his travels to more than 75 countries worldwide. Graduate of the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art in Oxford, Patrick Gibbs has exhibited extensively in the UK and the USA since his first exhibition in 1986.

He is inspired by the ordinary, but his work is an extraordinary portrayal of how moving and powerful simple human life can be.
